because i took him out of the water. he sat down by a well. he drew water also with us; call him that he may eat bread.
i have been a stranger in a foreign country.
he saw that the bush was on fire and was not burnt. “put off the shoes from thy feet for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” moses hid his face for he durst not look at God.
into a land that floweth with milk and honey: i will be with thee. i am who i am. he who is hath sent me to you this is my name forever and this is my memorial unto all generations.
visiting i have visited you.
what is it that thou holdest in thy hand? put out thy hand and take it by the tail. put thy hand into thy bosom and when he had put it into his bosom he brought it forth leprous as snow. put back thy hand into thy bosom he put it back and brought it out again and it was like the other flesh.
whatsoever thou drawest out of the river shall be turned into blood.
who made man’s mouth? or who made the dumb and the deaf the seeing and the blind? did not i?
go therefore and i will be in thy mouth.
he cometh forward to meet thee and seeing thee shall be glad at heart. speak to him and put my words in thy mouth and in his mouth. they are all dead that sought thy life.
a bloody spouse art thou to me! wherefore hast thou sent me? that is in my hand the water of the river and it shall be turnd into blood. set me a time when i shall pray for thee. strike the dust of the earth.
pray to the Lord your God that he taketh away from me this death. i will not see thy face anymore. go forth thou.
this month shall be to you the beginning of months. according to the number of souls which may be enough to eat the lamb and it shall be a lamb without blemish. they shall take of the blood thereof, they shall eat the flesh that night, you shall eat the head with the feet and entrails thereof. neither shall there remain anything of it until morning. i shall see the blood and i shall pass over you. in one house it shall be eaten. neither shall you carry forth the flesh thereof out of the house, neither shall you break a bone thereof.
(it was much better to serve them than to die in the wilderness.)
why criest thou to me. who is like to thee, glorious in holiness, terrible and praiseworthy, doing wonders?
his hands were not weary until sunset; sanctify them today and tomorrow and let them wash their garments! every one that toucheth the mount dying he shall die.
you have seen that i have spoke to you from heaven. i will come to thee and will bless thee. (thou shalt not go up by steps unto my altar lest thy nakedness be discovered.)
he shall render life for life. wound for wound. stripe for stripe. he shall give for his life whatsoever is laid upon him. you know the hearts of strangers.
behold i will send my angel, bring thee into the place i have prepared, my name is in him.
—and they saw God and they did eat and drink. in the holy of the holies and the table without the veil. for glory and for beauty, the hands of the offerer might be sanctified—
my angel shall go before thee. i know thee by name and thou hast found favour in my sight. my face shall go before thee and i will give thee rest. i will have mercy on whom i will and i will be merciful on whom it shall please me. thou shall stand with me upon the top of the mount.
